All the benefits without the weight; Barbour's New Lightweight Wax Collection

Spring is almost here and we are getting excited! Even by UK standards, winter 2017/2018 has been a pretty rotten one, at least with regards to the weather. In fact, the only thing that has kept us going is the way that such nasty weather has inspired our favourite outdoor clothing brands to produce some of the most remarkable garments of their illustrious careers to date.

Though we hope against hope every year, it has to be said that some spring days can rival the winter for sheer nastiness weather-wise. Luckily, those brands learn from the past and so much of the springtime outdoor clothing made by them is designed to deal with the full range of weather conditions from warm and dry to cold and wet, all four of which can follow one another in the space of a single hour.

Of all the brands that we supply to our customers, the coveted crown for getting this delicate balance exactly right every time has to go to Barbour. They are now in the process of releasing their spring/summer 2018 collection and judging by the first few garments to be made available, it's going to be something very, very special. Here is a quick taster in the form of three stupendously-attractive jackets that are all now in stock at Ken Varey's Town and Country Wear. Each weighs just 4oz so don't think that we've sent you an empty package when your order arrives!

The dark sand-coloured jacket is finished inside with, you guessed it, Barbour tartan.

Also rendered in the rich colour of fine sand is the Ogston jacket which includes hallmark details such as four outer pockets which utilise a stud fastening, a needlecord inner collar and classy, comfy studded placket and two-way zip. Once again, the lining is that unmistakeable tartan.

Lightweight Durham Jacket for Her

Still with that classic lining but this time rendered in an olive colour, the Durham features a fixed hood that can be yoked at the front as well as an inner drawcord to adjust the fitting at the waist, letting the wearer constantly adjust to the weather.
