Frank Brook met Walter Taverner over 100 years on a boat heading for Calcutta (now known as 'Kolkata') in India. Immediately striking up a friendship, the two decided to become business partners; their first modest venture was selling buttons directly to tailors. Gaining a reputation for supplying quality goods in a reliable manner, the business quickly grew and the partners began offering a wider product range. 

When Brook and Taverner started selling cloth, the fledgling business really took off. Demand was instant and relentless, spurring the pair on to travel the world together in search of the finest examples of cloth and other materials, with which they created menswear that propelled them to global fame.

Though the Brook Taverner brand has of course grown and evolved in the intervening century since it was founded, it has remained utterly faithful to the principles that have defined it from the very beginning: impeccable quality of materials, the closest attention to detail, dedication to craftsmanship, precision tailoring and distinctive styling.
