Visit Vareys at the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show!
The team here at Vareys Town & Country are excitedly gearing up to showcase our extensive collection of country clothing at this year's Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show. Taking place over three action-packed days, the show plays host to many different events, all of which celebrate the rich agricultural heritage of our beloved Lancashire.
The first Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show was in 1767 which, more than 250 years ago, makes the event the oldest of its kind in the UK. Each year, tens of thousands of guests attend the show which this year will take place on the Salesbury Hall Estate alongside the beautiful River Ribble.
As well as promoting Lancashire, the show helps to raise much-needed funds for local charities. Last year's show raised a record amount, which was shared between Northwest Air Ambulance, Age UK (Lancashire), food waste prevention charity FareShare, the Farming Community Network and Yellow Wellies, a charity that raises awareness of farm safety and the mental wellbeing of farmers.
Animals are of course a key focus of the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show and there are many competitions and displays taking place featuring a comprehensive menagerie including horses, fish, rabbits, goats, ferrets, ducks, livestock and even tortoises! New for this year is a beekeeping display while an old favourite is the fun-filled Shetland Pony Grand National. Place your bets!
The Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show is most definitely a family-friendly event and there is a dedicated Children's Village, where the little ones can enjoy a variety of fun and educational activities including archery and a climbing wall. There is also a Dog Show for our four-legged friends, where owners can win rosettes and certificates in a wide range of playful categories including waggiest tail, cutest puppy, best smile, best trick and best sausage-catcher!
Guests attending the event and taking part in its many activities are sure to get hungry and thirsty and so will enjoy visiting the stalls in the dedicated Food & Drink Marquee, all of which offer the tastiest and highest-quality refreshments that have been lovingly crafted by local artisans. There's also a Countryside Marquee, which is where you will find the Vareys Town & Country team showcasing the very best country clothing, footwear and accessories.
The Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show takes place from Friday 21st July to Sunday 23rd July inclusive, with gates opening at 9:30am and closing at 5:30am.
